Stays & celebrations at Château d’Oche
Château d’Oche is designed for stays and celebrations that unfold over days rather than hours. Whether you are gathering family for an extended château stay or planning a wedding, there is time to settle in, explore the grounds and enjoy the forever moments in between. Three-night stays are prioritised, particularly for weekend weddings, and rare two-night weddings are available, often during weekdays. Longer stays are welcome.
We host a highly limited number of weddings each year by design, allowing the château, gardens and surrounding ecosystem time to remain healthy, beautiful and deeply private for the celebrations that become part of Château d’Oche’s continuing history.
Oche, Ever After - A Wedding Essentials Package
Having experienced many beautiful weddings at the château, we have asked proven partners to bring together the elements we know matter most into one thoughtfully curated package that still leaves room for choice.
If your wishes include a relaxed wedding without a full-service planner, Château d’Oche has partnered with proven suppliers to create Oche, Ever After — an essentials package bringing together the coordination, staffing and practical support needed for a beautifully run celebration, while leaving catering, remaining supplier choices and any upgrades entirely yours.
Its exceptional value is made possible by Château d’Oche’s buying power and trusted supplier relationships.
If you would prefer full-service planning, we can also recommend planners with experience at the château and help you find the right fit for your celebration.

Five-star château accommodation
The many 5-star rooms and suites within the château combine individual character, historic detail and modern comfort. The château grounds can host up to 44 overnight guests, and nearby accommodation partners will take good care of additional guests.

Inside the château
The wedding weekend continues indoors: salons, fireplaces, flowers, long conversations and unhurried mornings in rooms that feel collected rather than repeated.

Most of the château’s principal rooms and suites form part of three independent 5-star classified gîtes; additional accommodation arrangements are available for larger groups.
The five-star distinction
Achieving a five-star classification in a historic château is no small undertaking. At Oche, the distinction applies to three independent classified gîtes within the château, encompassing individually decorated rooms and suites that respect the architecture of the house.
Le Gîte du Palais — four bedrooms, sleeping up to nine, with access for guests with reduced mobility.
Le Gîte du Château — five bedrooms, sleeping up to eleven, including some ground-floor rooms accessible to wheelchair users and guests with reduced mobility.
The Cottage Gîte — a self-contained, one-bedroom ground-floor accommodation for two, with a few steps at the entrance.
The Pink Room has neo-Gothic character, southern exposure, a pool view and an en-suite bathroom. The bright Blue Room looks over the estate and has a particularly lovely en-suite bathroom.
The Yellow Room pairs the château’s largest bed with garden and pool views. The Green Room looks over the estate, while the cheerful ground-floor Purple Room offers step-free room access with an adjacent bathroom.
Every wedding photograph shown here was made during a real celebration at Château d’Oche. We are grateful to the many talented photographers who have documented these days — and, through their work, continue to record the château’s living history — and to the wonderful couples whose celebrations have brought us so much laughter and still move us to tears of joy, every time.

History of Château d’Oche
Château d’Oche stands on a base dating to the late 1400s. From the seventeenth to twentieth centuries it belonged to the Barons d’Oche and the Bourdery family, before later becoming property of the French Republic and serving as a summer retreat connected with the Ministry of Finance and Industry.
Meet the Daydreaming KnightMeet Blanche
Blanche was born at Château d’Oche and spent her life here, the daughter of Louis Bourdery — the artist and “Daydreaming Knight” whose story is woven through the château’s history. An artist in her own right, Blanche painted much of the chapels and grand staircase. She knows this house with more than a little affection, and is delighted to help with questions about staying, celebrating, the rooms, the grounds and the world around Oche.
Finding Château d’Oche
The sense of remove is part of Château d’Oche’s allure: green hills, a blanket of stars, old trees and the feeling that the château has slipped quietly away from the rest of the world. Yet the practicalities, including healthcare, are incredibly close at hand, within ten minutes.
For guests travelling from abroad, Limoges Airport is a convenient gateway, less than two hours away on direct flights from the UK including London Stansted, Manchester, Bristol, East Midlands and Leeds Bradford. Bordeaux and Bergerac airports offer popular alternative arrivals, followed by an easy drive through the countryside to the château. The nearest train station is less than ten minutes away in La Coquille.
All of château staff speak English, and several are multilingual, so destination-wedding couples and their guests never need to worry about being lost in translation during their stay.
We host a highly limited number of weddings each year by design, helping preserve the landscape, gardens and ecosystem that make Château d’Oche feel so private and beautiful — for this celebration, and for the memories that will outlast it.
“Seeing the property in person for the first time was an entirely different experience — we actually cried. It was even more beautiful than we could have imagined.”

“You really do have to witness Château d’Oche to understand just how pure and special it is.”
