On the old foundations the new owner, Louis Bourdery (1852-1901), famous enamel painter and art historian, built the current building and completed it in 1883. The story says that Louis Bourdery built a new tower at the birth of each of his daughters – Dame Blanche was one of them.
She was the author of the paintings and enamels that adorn the grand staircase and the front of the chapel. An every day reminder of the acheivements of her and her family.
Her impressive and unusual work can be also seen at the trumeau of one of the chimneys, once again bringing to life the past of this historical building.
