The nearby towns of La Coquille, Thiviers and Jumilhac have wonderful weekly markets – well worth a visit and all within a 20 minute drive.
For a full day out less than 2 hours South, experience the many vineyard tours and tastings of the Bergerac, St.Emilion or Bordeaux Regions.We can help with suggestions.

In the local towns of Thiviers ( 20 minutes ) and Sorges ( 35 minutes ), the museums of ‘truffles’ and ‘foie gras’ give an interesting insight into these regional specialities.

The village of Jumilhac , just 10 minutes away has its’ own ‘micro-brewery’ – well worth a visit and some purchases.


Brantome is around a 45 minute drive from Oche. A must – see town, known as the ‘venice of the Perigord’ where boat trips, canoe hire and cave tours are popular.

A ‘velorail’ experience is different and a great family afternoon out, near Thiviers – a 20 minute drive from Oche.

The town of Excideuil and ‘Nautrellement Perigord’ offers a full day out in beautiful surroundings including rock climbing, swimming, fishing and kayak hire.


The stunning Chateau ‘Jumilhac’ which offers tours and garden visits , and the quaint village surrounding it is only a 10 minute drive from Oche.

Perigueux – the historic capital of the ‘Perigord’ region, with the old town, shopping and its beautiful St Front Cathedral are around a 45 minute drive.

The beautiful village of ‘Saint Jean de Cole’ and its chateau are worth a visit, just 25 minutes from Oche

For a historical visit, the ‘Chateau de Bruzac’ offers tours of its intreresting architecture, and is a 30 minute drive away.
