Meet Dame Blanche

It is on the old foundations that the new owner, Louis Bourdery (1852-1901), famous enamelled painter but also art historian, will build the current building, completed in 1883. The south wing – which houses the cottage – is particularly remarkable, with its balconies, its stone staircase and carved ornaments. The story says that Louis Bourdery built a new tower at the birth of each of his daughters. Blanche, one of them, is the author of the paintings and enamels that adorn the grand staircase and the front of the chapel, as well as the trumeau of one of the chimneys.
