Chateau Oche has the benefit of being situated in the Dordogne region of France, renowned for its gastronomy. Whatever your taste their is something for you.

Fine Dining

Within an easy driving distance are a number of restaurants featured in the Michelin Guide including ‘Michelin Star’ awarded properties – the closest being ‘Moulin de la Gorce’, 27 km from Oche and ‘Auberge de la Truffe’ which is 29km away. Reservations are essential. Other non classified fine dining restaurants are available in the area .

Traditional Dining

Within a 7km radius of Oche are a number of traditional French restaurants offering home-cooked, locally sourced produce for lunches or dinners including ‘Les Voyageurs’ and ‘le Provencale’ in La Coquille or ‘Lou Boueradour’ in Jumilhac Le Grand. A traditional Irish Pub is also available and open late – a short drive away from Oche.

Local Produce

Our area is known particularly for its Truffles, Foie gras, Duck and ‘Cepes’ Mushrooms. Museums in Sorges and Thiviers allow you to learn more and taste the produce. A micro brewery in Jumilhac produces local beers, and within driving distance numerous vineyards are available to visit. There is no better way to experience the fresh local produce however, than visiting the weekly market in La Coquille or Jumilhac, and if you wish to drive a little further the weekly market in Thiviers on a Saturday is a rival to even that of the larger towns.
